Our Fundamental purpose

At Bergville Community Builders (BCB), our fundamental purpose is to empower and uplift underprivileged learners in rural South Africa by enhancing educational access and quality. Through targeted programs like our Maths and Science Tutoring, career guidance events, and mentorship initiatives, we strive to equip learners with critical skills, knowledge, and support to achieve academic excellence and pursue meaningful careers. By bridging the gap between rural education and industry expectations, BCB is committed to fostering a brighter, self-sustained future for the communities we serve.

Our Vision

BCB’s vision is To be a highly recognized and reputable socially responsible organization in the effective development of education in the currently underdeveloped rural areas of South Africa and to provide necessary support to the learners and educators where needs have been identified.

Our Mission

  • Give an opportunity for the learners to speak to qualified professionals relating to their study of interest.
  • To contribute towards the improvement of the quality of life of currently disadvantaged South African learners through better education and awareness of all the available career paths.

  • To support and link our schools to other educational initiatives organized by the Department of Education or Private Sector.
  • To maintain and support interactions between learners and BCB even at tertiary institution levels.
  • To sustain our existence by involving and encouraging tertiary students to take part in the organization and drive some of BCB initiatives

Our history

Bergville Community Builders (BCB) is an independent Non-Profit Organisation established on April 23, 2003, and began its activities on August 9, 2003. The organisation is located in the underdeveloped rural area of Bergville, approximately 55 km from Ladysmith, and was founded by a group of professionals committed to giving back to their community. BCB focuses on supporting Grade 10, 11, and 12 learners by providing career guidance, life skills, and information on tertiary education. Through initiatives like career events, mentoring, and extra Maths and Science classes, BCB has been dedicated to improving the future prospects of students in the Bergville area.
